BEATRICE – Gage County is awaiting word from the state of Nebraska on whether new property valuation figures fall within the median ranges set in state law.
Assessor Patti Milligan says the county should know, around April 10th or 11th.
:17 “staying there”
Milligan says the number of agriculture land sales has declined significantly in the past three years of sales data.
:06 “do the test”
Milligan says the outside county sales will probably come into play because of a lack of farm land sales in a three-township area of southern Gage County.
New property valuations will be issued toward the end of May. The protest filing period is in June, and the county’s board of equalization hears the protests in June and July.
