BEATRICE –  On Flag Day, over 30 people from all around the world joined the official population of the United States…taking the Oath of Citizenship at the Homestead National Monument of America.


The Citizenship ceremony was held inside the Education Center at the National Park Service attraction west of Beatrice, where U.S. Magistrate Judge Cheryl Zwart talked about allegiance to the flag….and that all citizens are welcomed to have a role in their country.

Zwart gave an emotional account of those who have sacrificed their lives for the United States, emphasizing the need to serve the nation for the greater good.

Representatives of Nebraska’s Congressional delegation helped welcome the new U.S. Citizens and vocalist, Judy Anderson, led the group in the Star Spangled Banner, prior to becoming the newest members of the United States.
