Weather officials upgrade winter advisory to a storm warning

A winter storm warning is in effect until 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon for Otoe, Lancaster, Gage, Pawnee, Johnson, Nemaha and Richardson Counties in southeast Nebraska.

The National Weather Service office in Valley says total snow amounts from 4 to 8 inches with locally higher amounts are possible.

Plan on difficult travel conditions. Expect significant reductions in visibility at times.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Cass, Fremont, Page, Atchison, Andrew, Holt and Nodaway Counties until 4 p.m. 2-5″ of snow is expected in these areas.
