Veterans Day Observance, at Beatrice High School

BEATRICE – Beatrice Senior High School hosted a ceremony today honoring the nation’s veterans, just ahead of Saturday’s Veteran’s Day observance.  Those who served in the various branches of the armed services were honored by the Beatrice High School Choir and the BHS band, which played and sang a medley of military service themes.

Director of the Nebraska Department of Veterans’ Affairs, John Hilgert recounted the service of veterans in various wars, and how it has led to the greatest freedom-loving nation in the world.

Hilgert said ordinary men and women have stepped forward to claim independence and protect freedom, while helping others in their struggles against oppression.
