BEATRICE – A teenage driver was not seriously hurt in an accident caused by trying to avoid a deer, in the roadway.
Gage County Sheriff’s Officers say the youth was driving east on West Scott Road at around 7:50 Friday morning, and swerved to avoid a deer. The vehicle went off the right side of the road, through a ditch, and overturned onto the driver’s side in pasture.
The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and walk to a nearby residence for help.
Sheriff’s authorities say the youth’s father responded to the scene, but no transport of the driver was needed, for medical treatment.
The driver was using a seatbelt during the accident, near West Scott and Southwest 103rd Road.
