UPDATE: One Person Killed in Madison Accident
Rescue crews comfort each other after a collision near Madison, NE sends multiple people to the hospital.

MADISON – Authorities say one person was killed in a Sunday afternoon accident in Madison County.

It happened at around 4:15 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Highway 81 and Main Street just outside of Madison. Madison County Sheriff’s officials say a pickup truck driven by 74-year old Ron Schroeder was trying to turn north on the higway when he was struck on the driver’s side by an SUV containing four passengers.

All five involved were taken to Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk with varying degrees of injuries. Schroeder was pronounced dead at the hospital. There’s been no update to the conditions of the other four, identified as 75-year old Loran D. Naber, 82-year old Milan D. Garder, 77-year old Gaye L. Garder and 74-year old Patricia A. Naber.
