Two Nebraska Teens Charged With Sexual Assault at UNK

BUFFALO COUNTY – Two University of Nebraska at Kearney students are accused of sexually assaulting a female student on campus.

19-year-old Prestin Melroy of Holdrege and 18-year-old Zachary Reikofski of Fairbury have both been charged in Buffalo County Court with felony first-degree sexual assault, which authorities say happened in a residence hall on Sunday.

Melroy and Reikofski both appeared in court Wednesday where bonds were set at $25,000 cash. They are scheduled to appear in court in December.

UNK sent two campus-wide emails during the week informing students of the alleged assault and that the subjects were arrested.

A UNK spokesman says Melroy had been a member of the UNK wrestling team but was removed from the team for breaking team rules.
