BEATRICE – Two men have been bound over for arraignment in Gage County District Court, following preliminary hearings in separate criminal cases.
35-year-old Jeremy Vater is charged with failing to register every six months as required, under the Sex Offender Registry Act. Vater was convicted in Jefferson County in June of 2005, of attempted 1st-degree sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl.
Vater is required to register as a convicted sex offender, for 25 years. He has resided in Wymore. A Gage County District Court arraignment hearing is set for January 17th.
52-year-old James Alder of rural Adams was bound over to district court, following a preliminary hearing on a felony charge of stalking. Alder also faces misdemeanor counts of 1st-offense DUI, refusal of alcohol testing and violation of a protection order. A Gage County District Court arraignment is scheduled for January 3rd.
