BEATRICE – A driver and passenger escaped serious injury when their pickup went out of control and rolled, near Adams.
Gage County Sheriff’s investigators say the Ford F-150 traveling north on South 162nd Road was approaching a curve that turns into Main Street in Adams.
The truck driven by 23-year-old Zachary Crouch, of Adams, went out of control and left more than 300 feet of skid marks. It entered the south ditch just east of Main and Ash Streets. Sheriff’s investigators say the pickup rolled two-and-a-half times before coming to rest on its’ top.
Crouch had minor cuts to his hands and a passenger was not injured. Authorities ticketed the driver for careless driving. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts.
Authorities do not suspect alcohol involvement, but say speed was a factor in the crash. The accident happened last Thursday, just after 7 p.m. Adams Rescue crew members went to the scene, but did not transport anyone.
