STANTON – A husband-wife duo are in jail, and two more people are being sought in a Stanton County robbery case.

Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger says 38-year old Jacob Mahnke and his wife, 28-year old Kayla Simmons, were arrested following an investigation into a series of burglaries at the home of a longtime Stanton County resident who had recently passed away.

Sheriff Unger says the joint investigation with Wayne Police turned up about $20,000 worth of stolen items, including seven firearms and a four-wheeler.

Unger says two other men, 26-year old Benny Giffrow and 22-year old Sawyer Giffrow – both of Wayne, are being sought in connection with the burglaries. Anyone who knows where they are is urged to contact their local law enforcement.
