Trick-or-treating in the snow? There’s a chance this afternoon

NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. – For those who are preparing to venture out tonight to go trick-or-treating, you may want to wear and extra layer underneath your costume.

The National Weather Service office in Valley says the region could see rain showers after 2 p.m. on Halloween, followed by a mix of snow after 5 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of precipitation is possible. Temperatures during the day will be near 40 degrees, following to 30 degrees tonight.

Motorists in the Nebraska’s panhandle were shocked to wake-up to an inch of snow this morning. According to the Nebraska Department of Roads, snow either completely covered or partially covered roads from Scottsbluff to Ogallala.

The Grand Island and Central City areas also saw snow covered roads late this morning (Tuesday).
