Beatrice–Gage County residents with trucks, trailers and flatbeds have been busy today bringing in old tries to the Gage County fairgrounds as part of a two day tire amnesty event. The two day event is made possible thru the Nebraska Waste Reduction and Recycling Incentive Grants Program. A grant totaling over 32-thousand dollars is making it possible for Gage County residents to discard their old tires at the fairgrounds today and tomorrow.
Hay says the grant allows a maximum of 3-hundred-75 tons of tires to be collected..
