Three Arrested in Beatrice During Metro Area Fugitive Task Force Sweep

BEATRICE – Three people have been arrested and a fourth person was being sought in Beatrice, during an investigation Tuesday that involved the Metro Area Fugitive Task Force.

44-year-old Dennis Stege, 28-year-old London MaGuire and 31-year-old Jarod Hicks have been arrested and are scheduled to make Gage County Court appearances, Thursday.

Stege was arrested on suspicion of possession of an illegal drug, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and child abuse.  MaGuire was arrested for possession of an illegal drug and possession of paraphernalia.  Hicks is in custody for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.   Authorities were searching for Hicks and a fourth person, identified as Brandon Kopf…..both on pending warrants.   Beatrice Police Chief Bruce Lang says during the arrests, officers recovered drugs and paraphernalia.

The arrests were made yesterday at homes along Ella and Bell Streets.   Lang says three children, ages 4,7 and 8 were present at the Bell Street home.   The children were removed from the home.  The arrests of the suspects were made at around 7:30 a.m., yesterday.

The Bell Street home is near Stoddard Elementary School.  There was no lock-down because students were in the process of arriving for the school day.  During the task force arrests, no weapons were seized.
