Tents Are Up As The Cattlemen’s Ball Approaches

HEBRON – Driving up U.S. Highway 81 you will see big tents just a few miles north of Hebron.   Next week they will be filled with people, all raising money for cancer research.   Preparations are underway for this year’s Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska which will take place June 1-2 near Hebron.

The ball is a charity that raises money for cancer research. Ninety percent of the profits benefit the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha. Ten percent goes to communities’ health programs.

The Cattlemen’s Ball is not a ball but a mix of entertainment with two concerts featuring country superstars Tracy Lawrence and Trace Adkins; a ranch rodeo; silent and live auctions; a golf tournament; wine and craft beers tastings; a fashion show and much more.

This year’s theme is “Whip Cancer on the Oregon Trail as it takes place a few miles away from where the Oregon Trail made it’s way across the state.   News Channel Nebraska will do a special live broadcast of parts of Saturday night’s activities.

This sold out event will take place on the Hergott farm less than a quarter mile off of U.S. Highway 81 just a few miles north of Hebron.
