Teen Driver Injured in Accident, North of Beatrice

BEATRICE – Beatrice Fire and Rescue crews were sent to a one-vehicle accident last night, at U.S. 77 and Hackberry Road, about two miles north of Beatrice.

Rescue personnel were sent to the scene just after 11 p.m., transporting one person to Beatrice Community Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Gage County Sheriff’s Deputies say a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 16-year-old Beatrice youth was southbound on Highway 77 when the driver lost control.

The car went into the west ditch, struck a dirt embankment, coming to rest in an adjacent corn field.  The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of neck pain.
