COLUMBUS, Neb. – Folks in the community got a preview of what’s to come at the Taste of Columbus kick-off event on Tuesday.
The event was held at the Columbus Community Center where folks received a delicious meal, root-beer float dessert and got to see some of the offerings that will be at Taste of Columbus in October.
The fundraising efforts from Taste of Columbus 2017 will go to the center, which according to director Cindy Branting, has been quite busy lately and could use the proceeds.
“We educate seniors, we entertain them, we are there for them with our support groups and we are just growing and growing,” says Branting.
Co-chairs for Taste of Columbus Dr. Ron Ernst and Mark Mercer, along with their wives, were on hand for a meal and to take an official Taste of Columbus photo.
A pearl necklace that will be raffled off was being shown to the public at the community center event.
Taste of Columbus will kick-off October 8th and will include food samples, auctions and a raffle.
