Stolen Copper, Returned to Beatrice Business

BEATRICE – Whoever stole scrap copper from outside a Beatrice business over the weekend, apparently returned it.

Police were investigating the theft at Rewound Power Motors, on East Court Street.   Beatrice Police offered on their Facebook page to only cite, and not arrest the person or persons involved, if the goods were returned.

Lieutenant Mike Oliver says the scrap copper apparently was returned last night, to the location where it had been taken.

Police reviewed security video of a vehicle that was at the scene, during the theft.   Officers planned to further review security footage today, to see if the same vehicle or a different one may have been used in returning the copper.  Oliver says the value of the scrap was probably less than $500.

Police say there was no break-in, to the business.  No one has been cited or arrested in the incident.
