Steinauer man killed in Kansas accident

MARSHALL Co., Kan. – A Nebraska man died Saturday when his vehicle overturned in Marshall County, Kansas.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log it happened just before 7 a.m. on Cherokee Rd., eight miles north of Marysville.

Tyler Vanwinkle, 25, of Steinauer, Nebraska was driving westbound on Cherokee when his Dodge truck drifted off the south end of the road and struck the guardrail.

The truck overturned as it left the roadway and came to rest upside down on the west edge of a creek.

According to our sister station in Topeka, Vanwinkle was transported to the Marshall County Hospital where he later died.
