Stanton Man Gets Jail Time, Probation for Stabbing Brother

STANTON – A Stanton man is getting some jail time and probation after being convicted of stabbing his brother.

Twenty-two year old Dakota Dittman was sentenced to 30 days in jail and two years of probation in Stanton County District Court on Monday.

Dittman was arrested last June, after Stanton County authorities say he stabbed his then 19-year old brother in the abdomen during an incident at a residence in Stanton. Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger said at the time that the victim required emergency surgery.

Dittman pleaded guilty to an amended charge of misdemeanor assault as part of a plea deal in April.
