Spotter Training to be Held Wednesday Night in Columbus

COLUMBUS – If you have a knack for spotting storms, or have a love for weather when it shows it’s nastier side, then Wednesday night’s meeting may be for you.

The National Weather Service and Platte County Emergency Management will be holding the annual Storm Spotter Training class.

The class involves a 2 hour session that will be held Wednesday night, March 15th, starting  at 7:00 p.m. The session will take place inside the Platte County Courthouse Community Room, and attendees are asked to us the west sheriff’s entrance, says the press release.

The training is provided to multiple people including; fire department, industry, retail, education, spotter groups, and other individuals interested in the process, says the press release.

Severe Weather Awareness Week will be held from March 27th to the 31st with a mock tornado warning being held on March 29th at 10:30 a.m.
