Southwest Iowa woman, 28, arrested after pursuit in Council Bluffs

A 28-year-old southwest Iowa woman has been arrested in Council Bluffs in connection with a police pursuit.

Around 10 a.m. Tuesday, police spotted a stolen 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck near South Ninth Street and Second Avenue.

The truck fled from the scene, police said, and a Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office deputy began the pursuit at South 16th Street and Second Avenue.

The woman, from Coin, Iowa, later lost control of the stolen pickup, driving through a fence and into the yard at 820 Ninth Ave. The driver was arrested. A passenger, a 20-year-old woman, was released.

The driver was booked into the Pottawattamie County Jail on suspicion of theft and eluding police, and on an outstanding warrant.
