BEATRICE – Southeast Community College will officially mark the opening of the college’s newest learning center in Hebron, next Tuesday.
A ribbon-cutting will be held at 11:30 a.m., at 610 Jefferson Avenue.
Crystal Fangmeier will be the Coordinator for the new center. She has spent over 20 years coordinating the University of Nebraska Extension 4-H Youth Development Program, in Thayer and Nuckolls Counties.
The learning center, in a former elementary school facility, will offer college credit classes, technical training and leisure classes for someone just wanting to learn a new craft or skill.
SCC President Dr. Paul Illich will speak at the ribbon cutting, Tuesday. SCC has been in the process of establishing learning centers throughout the school’s 15-county service area, to better serve local educational needs. Each center has its’ own classroom and computer lab.
The first center opening more than a year ago, is located in York. Last fall, learning centers opened in Nebraska City and Plattsmouth. Learning centers are also operating in Falls City and Wahoo.
