Sleeping….But Not Walking…Search Ends on Positive Note

BEATRICE – An extensive search for a 13-year-old youth in south Beatrice this morning ended, when the youth was found in a closet, sleeping.

Police had received a report around six a.m. of a missing male youth who was feared to possibly be sleep walking, in the Lake LaDu area of south Beatrice.

Police Chief Bruce Lang says that touched off an extensive search of the area.

As it turns out, the youth was still in the house he was thought to have left.  The search ended when the youth was found in a closet of the house, at around 9:30 a.m.

The home is in the Belvidere area of south Beatrice.  Lang says “you always fear the worst”, and one of the first things police do is search the house.

He says a lot of people were concerned.

Neighbors and friends of the youth also helped search.
