Sheriff’s Office says Alcohol Offenses Saw Uptick Over Weekend

CENTRAL CITY – The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office released a statement on Monday, noting an uptick in alcohol related offenses over the weekend.

The sheriff’s office reported that several arrests were made and people were cited for violating laws, while under the influence of alcohol.

In Merrick County, 4 driving under the influence arrests, an assault, an accident, open container violations, minor in possession violations, and several traffic offenses occurred this past weekend.  One of those arrested for DUI and Open Container, is also facing a charge for theft.

Additionally one arrest was made for possession of a controlled substance.
