DAVID CITY, Neb. – A Dwight felon, who accidentally discharged his firearm in a residence, told police to shoot him before he was tased and arrested, records say.
Court records say 37-year-old Travis Lund had been drinking when he began to load a gun and accidentally fired it inside the residence on March 10th.
When authorities arrived, they tried to give him verbal commands, but he defied them, instead yelling ‘shoot me’ before being tased by a Butler County Sheriff deputy, according to court documents.
A woman at the house told deputies he also tried to physically prevent her from calling 911.
He was arrested for owning a gun as a felon, a crime punishable anywhere from three to 50 years in prison.
