Sentencing For Blue Springs Woman, Rescheduled

BEATRICE – A Blue Springs woman failing to appear for sentencing on two misdemeanor convictions of theft, has been given more time to appear.  Gage County District Judge Rick Schreiner rescheduled 42-year-old Angela Lenk’s sentencing for July 18th.

Her attorney, Jessica Meyer, said her client was admitted late Tuesday night to a Lincoln hospital for a heart issue.

Gage County Attorney Roger Harris took no position on the defense motion to reschedule sentencing.  He said a plea agreement had been reached in the case that would include $2,500 restitution to the Wymore Church of Christ, victimized by a theft in the case.  He also said Lenk had failed to meet with state probation to complete a pre-sentence investigation.

Judge Schreiner noted that Lenk entered her pleas of no contest on May 30th and had been ordered to meet with state probation, on two occasions.  The judge ordered that upon release from the hospital, Lenk report to the Gage County Sheriff.

In a separate Gage County District Court case, Judge Schreiner revoked the bond of Patrick Wahlstrom, who failed to appear Wednesday for sentencing for attempted possession of a controlled substance.  The judge issued an arrest warrant, and set a new appearance bond, of $10,000.
