Rural Gage County Permitted Projects Approaching $9 Million

BEATRICE – Gage County Planning and Zoning has issued at least 125 permits for rural building projects in 2018.

In a recent report to the county’s planning commission, the permits issued involved projects with a total construction valuation of nearly $8.75 million.

The two largest projects included construction of four poultry barns in Nemaha Township east of Cortland, for $720,000.  A farrowing house totaling $431,000 was being built in Lincoln Township, southwest of Beatrice.

Rural residential projects have been popular during 2018, with a total of 25 new homes or additions granted permits through the county’s planning and zoning office.

At least 22 grain bins were granted permits, along with 32 storage or machine sheds.

Total fees from the permits surpassed $22,000.
