COLUMBUS – A 42-year-old woman is serving time after being sentenced for a DUI crash near the Columbus Middle School.

An affidavit by CPD Officer Jeff Anderson says Barbara Rocha was arrested on January 21st, after blowing a .319 BAC on a digital alcohol breath test, following an accident on 17th Street and 26th Avenue.

Investigation determined Rocha was driving a 1998 Nissan Frontier westbound on 17th Street, when she ran a stop sign and hit a 1994 Dodge Dakota driving northbound.

The driver of the Dakota was transported by personal vehicle to the hospital to be treated for unknown injuries, following the accident in January.

Court Records say Rocha pleaded no contest, and was sentenced to 2 years in jail, with 9 months of post release supervision. Roach was given credit for 49 days served and her license has been revoked for 15 years.

This is Rocha’s third DUI, with prior convictions dating back to 2012 and 2013.
