Road Rage Suspected in West Beatrice Collision

BEATRICE – Both drivers will be ticketed by Beatrice Police in what was described as a road rage collision, Monday morning.

A pickup and a sport utility vehicle were involved in the wreck, next to the parking lot of the Beatrice Medical Center.

Police Chief Bruce Lang says officers determined the driver of the S-U-V intentionally struck the pickup. Lang says both vehicles had come off Nebraska Highway Four onto West Court, or U.S. Highway 136.

Police investigating said there had been an initial confrontation between the two vehicles while they were traveling Highway Four.   Lang says the vehicles had made contact prior to the S-U-V driver intentionally striking the pickup.

There were independent witnesses to the collision, which sent both vehicles off the south side of U.S. 136.

The incident on West Court happened prior to nine a.m., Monday.  There were no injuries in the collision.  Police had not released the identities of the drivers today, pending the writing of the citations.
