Public Event Could Aim Focus for Comprehensive Plan

COLUMBUS – A community planning event in late June will help the city figure out what areas should see improvements in the community.

Columbus City Administrator Tara Vasicek says she hopes to have roughly 200 people attend the event, which will be held at the Ramada on June 20th.

“To come and give their opinion on how they want Columbus, the city specifically, to grow in the next 20 years. So what’s important? Are parks important? Are trails important? Housings important, we know that, but what kind? Where at? All those sorts of things,” says Vasicek.

Vasicek says they want to get the communities pulse on what they think would keep people here, and attract more people to the area.  The city is currently working on a new comprehensive plan, which this meeting will impact.

The event is set to begin at 6 p.m.
