Primary Winners Determined in Marshall County, Kansas Commission Race

BEATRICE – Two people have been nominated and will face off in November, in a Marshall County, Kansas county commissioners’ race.

Unofficial results in the Marshall County Commission District One race show Barb Kickhaefer, of Marysville, defeated Shane Hartner of Marysville, 210-to-127.  Three other candidates were running for the Republican nomination.

Kickhaefer will face Democrat Stephen Boyda, of Marysville, who ran unopposed on the Democratic side.

In the Governor’s race on the Republican side, Marshall County voters favored Governor Jeff Colyer over Kris Kobach, by a margin of 672-to-461.

In Washington County, Kansas, there were no contested local races in Tuesday’s primary.  In the Governor’s race on the Republican side, Washington County residents favored Governor Jeff Colyer over Kris Kobach, 553-to-349.

Statewide, Kobach was leading the incumbent by less than 200 votes, at last report.
