BEATRICE – Nebraska residents were getting the chance to practice their severe weather readiness, Wednesday, with statewide mock tornado watch and warning.
Gage County Emergency Management Coordinator Lisa Wiegand says that practice includes some large area employers, and schools.

Wiegand says part of family awareness of the threats of severe weather, is simply knowing where family members will be, and having plan to deal with the possibility of severe storms.

The Gage County Courthouse is holding their emergency exercise later in the week, on Friday. The courthouse will close at four p.m., allowing for tornado and fire drills and training on the use of fire extinguishers.
