BEATRICE – A small portion of southeast Nebraska is included in the potential for an elevated chance of severe weather, on Tuesday. Jefferson County and parts of other southern counties are included in an area of enhanced risk for a severe weather outbreak, during Tuesday and Tuesday evening.
The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma says areas in the enhanced risk region could see severe thunderstorms capable of producing large size hail and damaging winds.
The area of enhanced risk includes north central Kansas into southern Nebraska. It also includes portions of Oklahoma and Texas. The prediction center says tornadoes are possible from Oklahoma and Texas into central Kansas.
The entire eastern half of Nebraska is included in an area of slight risk for severe weather. The area of slight risk also includes southwest Iowa and much of western and northern Iowa
