Police Say Vehicle Thefts in Multiple Counties Are Connected

WASHINGTON, KS – Officers recovered a stolen vehicle and other evidence on Friday near the 1600 Block of Victory Road. According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, the vehicle theft was connected to a series of vehicle thefts across Republic, Washington, Nemaha and Shawnee counties.

Police tell News Channel Nebraska that two suspects have been identified. One suspect has been arrested and the other suspect remains at large, as of Monday afternoon.

Other reports from last week include officers responding to an attempted burglary at the Hanover Pharmacy on Thursday, October 5. The Washington Fire Department was also dispatched to a semi that had caught fire near 17th and National Roads on Tuesday, October 3.
