Police Dog Bites Volunteer at National Night Out

NORFOLK – A volunteer for The 2018 National Night Out at Central Park, in Norfolk, is recovering from a dog bite.

Norfolk Police say during a police service dog demonstration the dog bit an adult male volunteer.

The volunteer was wearing protective bite equipment while assisting with the exercise.

During the second demonstration, the police service dog bit the volunteer in the lip injuring the man.

Norfolk Fire and Rescue personnel on-site treated the volunteer and transported him to Faith Regional Hospital.
