Police Called to Beatrice Walmart Store, Arrest Male for Drugs, Shoplifting

BEATRICE – Police responding to a loss prevention report at the Walmart Store in Beatrice, arrested one person for shoplifting and drug possession.

Police were called to the store late Monday afternoon, on a report that a male wearing a black shirt had taken a pair of shoes and a shirt.

A store employee observed the man get into the back seat of a gray car.  An officer arriving on scene used his cruiser to block the vehicle in.

The suspect was brought back into the store.  An employee had seen the man allegedly drop a small cylinder container into a box near the back area of the store.   Police found pills and a plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine.

32-year-old Dylan Palmer of Humboldt was arrested on suspicion of drug possession and second offense shoplifting.  The value of the shoes and shirt taken from the store was $48.50.

Palmer’s bond was set in Gage County Court at $3,000, with a court appearance scheduled for June 19th.
