Police, Ambulance Respond to Two Vehicle Collision Friday Morning

COLUMBUS – Columbus crews were dispatched to an accident after a vehicle t-boned a car driving eastbound on 23rd Street.

Columbus Police Captain Todd Thalken says a 2005 Ford Escape was being driven in the outside eastbound lane of 23rd Street by a 46-year-old woman, when a 2007 Toyota Camry heading southbound on 23rd Avenue entered the intersection and collided with the Escape.  Thalken says police were called to the accident at 4:18 a.m. Friday, and says the street light at the intersection was flashing yellow for the eastbound lane and red for southbound traffic at the time of the accident.

The Camry suffered $5,000 in damage and was being driven by a 21-year-old man, while the Escape was considered a total loss.

An ambulance was dispatched to the scene to check out the driver of the Escape for minor injury.
