Plymouth Man Recognized For His Service To The Nation

FAIRBURY –   A Jefferson County man who served his country in the U.S. Army was honored this week by the Jefferson County Commissioners as part of an ongoing recognition effort.

Tuesday at the County Commissioners meeting, Jefferson County officials honored Arthur Wells of Plymouth for his service in the military.   Wells served in the United States Army from September of 1945 to December of 1946 doing mechanical work.    After his honorable discharge, he returned to Plymouth where he started working for Wells Implement until his retirement.   He still lives with his wife Alverta and has contributed a lot to the community including church treasurer, school board, and is a long-time American Legion member.

Jefferson County officials continue to honor the great men and women that have served in the armed forces on the first Tuesday of every month.
