Plier Production Makes It’s Return To DeWitt

DEWITT –  Back in 2008, the Southeast Nebraska town of DeWitt was devastated when their Vise-Grip plant moved to China putting hundreds of people out of jobs in the area.  On Friday, citizens watched as a ribbon was cut bringing a breath of fresh air into their economy.

Malco Products announced during a grand opening event on Friday that it will be making a new line of ten new Eagle Grip locking plier products that will be manufactured in Dewitt.  They will be manufacturing them in the same facilities that the Vice-Grip tools were made 10 years ago.

Governor Ricketts was on hand to tour the factory with the public and get a look at the remodeling that went into the old factory to be able start manufacturing.

Malco Products got its start in 1950, and is headquartered in Annandale, Minnesota, just outside the Minneapolis.  They are the nation’s leading manufacturer of “tools of the trade” for Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning  and other professionals.
