Peru Man Accused Of Rape At 2015 Party At Nebraska City

NEBRASKA CITY – The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 22-year-old Peru man on a warrant alleging sexual assault of a woman at a party in rural Nebraska City a year and a half ago.

Mamoudou Drame is scheduled to appear Monday with a French interpreter in Otoe County Court, where he is charged with raping a 19-year-old woman while she was unconscious and sleeping on a couch.

An arrest warrant for Drame was issued March 7 based on a Nebraska Attorney General’s Office report alleging the woman attended a birthday party in a detached garage of the residence and was taken to a couch in the basement of the house after complaining of illness.

The arrest affidavit says the Nebraska City woman holding the party on south 66th Road discovered what she described as a sexual assault in progress.

She ended the party telling guests that Drame had sexually assaulted the woman. The Otoe County Sheriff’s Office was notified in September of 2015.

The affidavit says the 19-year-old remained unconscious until the following morning, when she discovered she had been undressed.

Court records say Drame denied having non-consensual sex.
