BEATRICE – An Odell area veteran received honors today before the Gage County Board, for service to his country.
Walter Vitosh is the latest county armed services veteran to be recognized as part of a continuing program before the supervisors.
Vitosh served in the U.S. Army from September 10th, 1952, to June 10th of 1954. He served with a battery of the 92nd Battalion in Korea.

Supervisors Chairman Myron Dorn credits the veterans for the impact they had on this country.

Vitosh said he learned of the birth of his daughter while he was stationed overseas.

Family members were on hand today, for the honors ceremony.
Jefferson County officials recently started a similar program to honor that county’s armed services veterans.
