Norfolk Public Schools Investigates Alleged Online Threat

NORFOLK – Rumors of a social media post that purportedly included a threat against the Norfolk Senior High was investigated by school administrators Monday morning.

In a statement, Norfolk Public Schools superintendent Dr. Jami Jo Thompson says that school officials were made aware of a rumor alleging that a student threatened violence against the high school on social media.

Thompson said district officials traced the rumor to its original source and met with the student in question.

The student said the threat was not real and school officials were able to confirm that the rumor was just that – a rumor – and that no threat to the school existed.
