Norfolk Business Suffers Damage After Weekend Fire

NORFOLK – Norfolk fire officials say minimal damage was done to a Norfolk business after a Sunday morning fire.

Norfolk Fire Lt. Travis Reich says crews were sent to Appeara on N. 3rd Street just before 9 a.m. Sunday. Reich says firefighters saw moderate smoke and flames in the building when they arrived.

The flames were doused within five minutes. Investigators say it appears some dry mop heads spontaneously combusted.

No one was injured. Around $1500 worth of damage was done.
