No Taillights Vehicle Stop, Results in Arrests of Driver, Passenger

BEATRICE – Two people have been arrested by Beatrice Police on drug and other charges, after an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle observed without taillights, at about 4:35 a.m., Monday.

The driver, 20-year-old Trenton Slama was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, driving on a suspended license and false reporting.   Authorities also say Slama had an active warrant for his arrest on a suspended license violation.

Police also arrested a passenger, 21-year-old Tori Schultz on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

During a search following the traffic stop, police allegedly found methamphetamine and marijuana.  They say Slama also allegedly gave a false identity, initially.

Slama’s appearance bond was set at $20,000, while the bond for Schultz was set at $5,000.   Beatrice Police stopped the vehicle the pair were riding in, near 6th and Dorsey.
