No Injuries in Crash at Fogbound Intersection

BEATRICE – Gage County Sheriff’s deputies say a highway collision in dense fog, Saturday, caused no injuries.   It happened at around one p.m., at the east junction of Nebraska Highway 41 with U.S. Highway 77….south of Cortland.

50-year-old Richard Crawford, of Wilber, was driving a Dodge Challenger east on 77 when a westbound semitrailer truck turned south in front of him, onto Highway 41.

Authorities say Crawford took evasive action, struck a curbed median and a light pole, before his car came to rest in ditch.

Sheriff’s officers say the semitrailer truck was driven by 57-year-old Donald McPherson, of Wedowee, Alabama.

Neither driver was injured.  Gage County law officers say dense fog was a factor in the accident and no one was cited.   A Nebraska State Patrol officer assisted with traffic control.
