New Business Coming to Downtown Norfolk, Encourages Social Interaction

NORFOLK, NE — A new business is coming to Norfolk, and it won’t ‘board’ you.

April Thompson and Jake Dinkel have a love for gaming, it’s reflected in their basement.

“We have everything” Thompson says, “well not everything, but a lot.”

That’s why they are picking up all 240 games and moving to a permanent location to downtown Norfolk where they will open Klubhaus. Klubhaus will be a retail store with paid gaming, and they hope to open sometime in October.

If you can connect the dots you’ll see that their love for gaming extends to giving to the community.

“So it’s not just us, we are the backbone but they are the community.”

Thompson and Dinkel used to run a monthly community game night at the Norfolk Art Center but with Klubhaus they have a monopoly on giving something different to the community.

“The community lost something when Hastings closed and when the comic book store that use to be downtown closed. We are kind of bringing it back in with a twist.”

Along with all the board games, Thompson says they also got custom-made miniature gaming tables for War Hammer or Infinity.

Thompson and Dinkel are excited to see Klubhaus encourage social interaction among a variety of gamers.

Klubhaus will have room for up to 60 people as well as a kid zone for the little ones. Thompson and Dinkel plan to buy more games before opening in October.
