BEATRICE – Miss Nebraska is the 2018-2019 National Miss Czech-Slovak, U.S. Janae Buckley of Omaha was crowned at the closing event of the National Wilber Czech Festival, in Wilber Sunday night. She performed a ballet dance routine during the talent competition at the Wilber Outdoor Theatre. Buckley receives a $2,000 scholarship along with $2,500 for a trip to the Czech Republic, among other prizes.
First runner-up was Miss South Dakota, Elyssa Walloch. Second runner-up honors went to Miss Minnesota, Heather Vikla. The pageant included candidates from Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Ohio, Wisconsin, Missouri and Florida.
The pageant winner, Buckley, also received the talent award during the competition. Named Miss Congeniality was Miss Wisconsin, Annika Angelo.
The award for Americanized Croix went to Miss South Dakota, Elyssa Walloch….and for Authentic Croix, Miss Nebraska, Janae Buckley.
The 32nd Annual Miss Czech-Slovak U.S. pageant took place over two nights, at the Czech Festival.
