Nebraska State Patrol Seizes over 1,800lbs of Marijuana

Nebraska State Troopers seized over 1,800lbs of Marijuana after a traffic stop Wednesday Evening on Highway 81 in Fillmore County.

A state trooper pulled over a 2017 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter after it was seen driving on the shoulder near mile marker 36 near Geneva. A NSP K9 was called in and detected the presence of a controlled substance in the van.

According to a press release by the Nebraska State Patrol, upon searching the van,  Troopers found over $5 million worth of drugs including: 1,853lbs of Marijuana, 8,779 doses of hash oil vape pens and 46lbs of loose hash wax.

The driver of the van, Michael Cardis, 39, of Arvada, Colorado, was arrested on multiple charges.

The charges include, possession of more than one pound of marijuana, possession with intent to deliver and no Drug Tax stamp.

Cardis was lodged in Fillmore County Jail.
