FAIRBURY – The Nebraska LEAD Program is once again taking applications. The program seeks to develop leadership skills in men and women involved in the agriculture industry.
Program Director Terry Hejny says there are a number of benefits for participants.

Hejny says the program consists of a series of seminars over a two year period.

He says the time commitment for those accepted into the program is about 65 days over a two year period.

Applicants should be generally between the ages of 25 and 50, involved in farming, ranching or agri-business and must have three years of residency in Nebraska.

Hejny says many people who have gone through the program now hold leadership positions in their communities and within the agriculture industry.

Hejny says there is a fee of $2,500 per person with another $13,000 covered by outside donors. Those interested in applying or seeking more information can visit the program’s website at lead.unl.edu or call Hejny’s office at 402-472-6810. The deadline to apply is June 15.
