Nebraska Diplomats Name Beatrice, SE Nebraska “Community of The Year”

BEATRICE –  A statewide economic development organization has named Beatrice as its’ “Southeast Nebraska Community of the Year”.

The Nebraska Diplomats organization made the announcement at a regional economic development event in Seward, today.

Beatrice was selected for being a leader in community growth and business partnerships.  The Nebraska Diplomats cited projects such as Landmark Snacks, Duonix Biodiesel, Hybrid Turkeys, Rare Earth Salts and the grand opening of Worldlawn Power Equipment’s U.S. headquarters.

Rare Earth Salts was named Innovator of the Year.

Mayor Stan Wirth says the community has made deliberate investments “in the community, its people and its infrastructure”.

That’s helped lead to business and community growth.

The Diplomats organization also cited the city’s addition of playground equipment, a renovated skateboard park, improvements to the trail system and new homes under construction.
